I joined BNY in April. I got relocation benefit of two weeks of stay and one month of salary. My offer letter says if I leave within a year then it will be recoverable from employee.

My question is that if I work for 10 months and leave, will I still need to repay the full money or it will be deducted pro rata basis in FNF ?

If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?

I have a question regarding taxation of joining bonus.

I resigned from the organisation before completing 1 year... Which will be deducted from my last month salary.

I have an interview for an in house position (only attorney) at a small non-profit focused on conservation easements. I am a transactional associate at a mid sized law firm. The prospect of freedom from the billable hour and contributing to meaningful work are the draws. The cons are that while the salary at the non-profit would only be slightly less than what I am making now, pay increases and opportunities for advancement will be much less than where I am now. Thoughts on making the shift?
