I just got an offer from a startup and while I’m excited, I’m also bracing myself. I wear hijab and in every job I’ve had, it doesn’t take long before I’m the go-to person for every question about Ramadan, Palestine, or “how we can be more inclusive.” Last Eid, I spent an entire lunch break helping HR write a post for LinkedIn. I want to show up authentically, but I’m also tired of doing unpaid DEI labor just because I’m visible. How do you set boundaries without seeming ungrateful, or worse, “difficult”?

Curious what the base and commission structure is for inside sales and associate director of sales in biotech (also anyone else who wants to share pls put industry). Paid hourly or salary? At the biotech company I work at avg inside sales is $62,632 with a $3500 per quarter cap. Commission structure is % based on sales quota reached vs capped (not a direct % of sales). I’m underpaid at $53000 with $3500 cap per quarter.
