I just got out of a five year relationship. Does dating get better or worse when you become an attorney? I’m in my late twenties. I’m not even ready to date again, not until after I take the bar. But I’m afraid that when I’m ready, I’m still not going to find the right person. I want the next person to be a lawyer or at least in a profession that will understand the long hours, a later timeline for having children, etc. Any advice?

My 2 cents.

It doesn’t need to be a lawyer to be somebody who is understanding. My husband is in supply chain management, and is extremely understanding of the demands of my job. That said, I didn’t get married until just now (5th year). I’m 29 and he is 30. Depending on your job demands, you may feel like it’s not time to date. But you should always make time for yourself, for friends, fun things, and in those times, you may meet somebody. I met, dated, and married my husband all within 2 years, and I was not in a place where I was actively “dating” at the time. You never know!

thank you :’) i thought i needed to be completely closed off from dating but just keeping myself open to possibilities while im focusing on myself is the way to go 🙂

I broke up with my high school sweetheart (12 year relationship) when I was 28 and met my wonderful husband at age 29. Together for 6 years, married for 4, and we have an adorable, perfect 2 year old 😊

I’d say the biggest thing to look out for is guys who want to leech off you financially. Make sure the guys you date are established in their career, whatever that may be, and are decent at managing money. When I was online dating, I narrowed my matches to only men who also had advanced degrees (I used Bumble, so at least at the time they let you do that), and still got plenty of matches.

You have plenty of time to find the right person. They don’t have to be a lawyer or in a particular profession to understand the hours we work. They just have to be a good person who is willing to understand your job is not a typical 9 to 5. My boyfriend is in IT and works long hours sometimes, but I always work more than him. I also have to travel often for work and he just works from home. He respects my ambition and career goals, and sees how hard I work. He supports me and makes sure I’m taking care of myself. That’s what you need in a partner, in addition to any other qualities you desire. Right now, just focus on you, finishing law school and the bar exam. Try not to put pressure on yourself to the right person immediately. Once you’re ready, just make yourself available and keep your heart open, and the right person will find you. But they need a good job/career, mature, responsible, good with finances. Impressed with your job but not so impressed it seems like they are seeing dollar signs. Also, watch out for those who claim to admire your job, but really they are jealous of you.

I appreciate hearing i do have time finding the right person 🫠 there’s so many ppl around me getting engaged or married or having kids so it feels like the pressure is on. Thank you.

I regret now that I haven't asked for Consultant role.

Hello! What is the best way to structure a discovery call for SaaS sales? e.g. share a deck, only focus on their use case (current state, goals, pain, etc.), share a story, etc. Lastly, how do you go further than surface level, like if they mention they are having issues with xyz, which is usually a symptom of the problem and not the problem itself. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

I’ve heard it’s important to include metrics on your resume. Being in Account Management do you see value and include campaign performance for projects you managed that were successful that your proud of on your resume?
