I just started a paralegal job with and estate and probate attorney in TN. I have next to no knowledge and experience in this vein of law, however, the attorney is totally willing to take me under their wing and show me the way, but just wondering if anyone can recommend any resources that I can use to help guide me along the way. I’m a step by step, follow a list type of person. Preferably free resources as I’m coming off of 4 months of unemployment, or really cheap. Thanks 😊✌🏻

Does EY or other consulting firms actively monitor where the employee is working from (and I mean different country here) if they’re not currently expected to come into the office?

Has anyone tried doing this? I’m sure they can find out, but do they even bother as long as the work is in order or the counsellor/partner doesn’t specifically ask?

As a technical point on the protests. Whose responsibility is it to shut down the protests? The law not to protest outside a judges house is federal. So the FBI? Should they be getting more scrutiny for not acting since they’re (supposedly) not a political arm of the government? But riot/protest control is not really their remit. They would enlist local PD to enforce? Similarly, if the locals said enough of this, is the applicable local/state law to act blocking a street? Not having a permit?

Any attorneys in the Bay Area practicing just in estate planning (not litigation), can you give your take on whether you would get enough business to do only planning? I'm currently doing family law and I want to start moving away from litigation. For family law there really isn't a non litigation role that produces enough business (i.e. mediation). I do okay, but definitely have to take on more litigation than I prefer. I was thinking estate planning might be a good addition to the mix.
