The fact that you're willing to ask for feedback, is a good leadership characteristic. I believe it's a fair question to ask. Especially, after devoting your time in a second interview.
I think so too, many places don’t even bother to respond usuallyn
I don't think it hurts. But every time I ask for feedback. I either don't get a response. Or they just say there was really no feedback they just picked a candidate with more experience. Which is very frustrating. Because if it was something lacking in the interview I'd like to know. That way I cab improve
Yeah it’s annoying when they don’t respond! We’re not asking for much!
Hi, so sorry to hear your going through this. I immediately got hired for 2 jobs and the one I took didn’t end up working out. I think I got big headed after those two interviews and when the one I took didn’t work.. I started interviewing again. I went on about ten more before being offered my current job. One of the ones I didn’t get had a recruiter that gave me some good pointers. Maintain good eye contact, lean forward a little into the interviewer, look to use words that grab the interviewers attention, and bring a folder with copies of your resume and business website print out. I’m a firm believer in that if it’s meant to be it will happen, and everything happens for a reason.
I don’t think it ever hurts to ask for feedback. They may or may not give it to you but never hurts to ask.
Also note, I live in Memphis TN and there is a lot of opportunity here. I could see where it would be harder in a smaller demographic.
Good luck and I hope you find the perfect fit soon.
Sending you good vibes.
Thank you so much, I appreciate that! Hopefully works out for us both :)
How do you usually ask for feedback if you do?
I say "thank you for the opportunity to interview for the position. I'm always looking to grow and improve myself. Is there any feedback from the interview that I could improve on for myself in the future."
Chief
I think you should. It will only help you get better for future interviews and opportunities. However, how willing companies would be to offer this feedback is where the problem lies, since they receive such a high volume of candidate resumes and probably conduct many interviews…Will they even remember specifics? 🤔 In any case, I’d ask for my own personal growth
