I’ve worked at AT&T as a sales consultant for 6 years and 8 months where we prospect, uncover, and close on leads. I’ve used Salesforce for the past 4 years during my tenure. I’ve done B2B sales where I’ve received awards for it for 2 years consecutively. Loads of troubleshooting, uncovering needs through consultative styled selling, and tech app subscriptions.
I was wondering if I have the necessary skills to transition into a tech sales role. If so, what would be the best role/fit for me?Amazon Salesforce Google @

For PwC fishes who left recently, how did you consolidate wealth builder into 401k within benefits express to avoid the 20% federal tax withholding that was described in the benefits package? I tried to do this online but it didn’t show as an option except to rollover to an existing IRA or take a final distribution. Do I need to call benefits express?

Some companies won't hire directly out of PA. PA is unique due to promotion structure, rapid salary increases, etc. that usually doesn't occur in industry. And I think they believe we'll be unhappy without it. But they probably aren't working 80-90 hours/week for 2 months. I would take more infrequent promotions and smaller raises for that...
Yea, I understand that completely from their side. You can’t hire someone to be a component controller that will be reviewing work when they’ve never actually done the work. Coming from a boomerang, there is SO MUCH that goes on in industry that we have absolutely no clue about. We know and understand maybe 10-20% of the business and procedures at most audit clients (even the ones where we are there full time). That being said, some companies won’t feel that way about your experience, so I hope you find one of those that you also like!
Component controller for a midsize company $400M market cap. I'm an audit manager w/2yrs. Seems like I should have gotten out 2-3 years ago for "real" experience.
Basically the CFO said he was looking for someone who had experience doing the work instead of reviewing the work.
Whoa. What service are you in and what is the job position?
Managerial accounting or financial reporting? Either or - kinda horseshit. But that’s also kinda like the folks who hang their hat on MACCs but finished their CPA. Private accounting never will Be what public is. Just won’t ever.
Its the best job of the ones I've interviewed at.
From certain aspects, its not. What were they referring to?
Probably coming from somebody that was fired from PA- keep looking
^ Exactly why I left. I realized as a Staff 2 that I had no idea how to prepare any of the support I was auditing. Stayed until Senior 1 and then bolted. So glad I did.
Yeah in the long run you are much better off leaving as a senior, at that point you have enough experience and are still not so expensive. Once u hit manager you don’t have the relevant experience and u are expensive...
Ey1 You have it completely backwards. The longer you stay , the more you will make and the exit opportunities are better. I have been in the business for over 30 years. Leaving as a senior never makes sense. If you want to leave for a more balanced life, then wait till you are a manager.
