Here is my idea for a startup! I collect all the data from career transitions and use Data Analytics to predict the most likely career transitions. I could start with consulting. What do you guys think about this? I would be able to predict based on your firm(mbb, big4), your experience, which role you are likely to move (Faang pm, strategy manager, move to mbb). I have all the data to do this, but wanted your thoughts. Would the output of this be relevant to you?

What is the best way to attract a new mate? I got out of a 7 year relationship (he was cheating on me for half of it) and I’m so confused on where to even start. I have a therapist and working on my trust issues - but I have self confidence issues. I’ve been burned for being ‘unattractive’. But I’ve seen girls that are objectively more unattractive than me have mates. So it must be a confidence issue? Those girls seem to glow while I am so sad. Or it’s the guys I go on dates with?

Has any companies given their employees good raises to help with the rising costs of everything? I was a top performer and only got around 3% this last year.

I'm not in sales per se but I manage my company's largest wholesale account ($150 million per/yr account). It's a great company, awesome culture, good benefits, flexibility, but the pay is not great ($60K/yr). All the pros outweighed the mediocre pay, but now with inflation rising, my paycheck isn't going as far and I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out if I should start looking elsewhere or if I should ask my boss for a raise.

So I just came out at my small firm in a small southern town. Historically, I haven’t discussed my personal life at work— but I had to give notice anyway. I told the partners I’m moving to be with my boyfriend. It was a surprisingly lovely conversation given that I’m at a firm of rich old men, deep in the heart of Tr*mp country.

My partner (also an attorney) is getting top surgery next month, and it will be an inpatient procedure. Any thoughts on how to explain to my firm that I will be out of touch for a day or two without getting too far into the weeds? Should I just say surgery? That seems dramatic.

My fiance got Monkey Pox, it's no joke folks. Get the vaccine even if you aren't into the "scene." You rub arms with the wrong person or enter an enclosed space with someone who has mouth sores, it's going to be a bad time.

What should I be reading or researching? First gen lawyer here, always been small firm. I’m at a 2 attorney firm now and was just approached about becoming a partner. The boss wants to clean up the books so I can review them and we can discuss. Other than professional connections, I have no idea where to turn for info/insight. I’m definitely interested, but obviously this is a big decision, so I don’t think a “partner? Sure, I’m in” is appropriate.

What do you all do to make non-professional / personal connections? Particularly with the Coronavirus, and being in domestic relations, I wake up, go to work, work out, go home. So outside of law, my interactions with people are only at the gym given that my area is draining— particularly at the moment. Probably a good thing for now; but if we take coronavirus out of the equation, I’m interested what others in the community do to develop personal connections.

For whatever reason, there are a ton of gay lawyers in Baltimore. On a regular basis,I've noticed myself, opposing counsel, and the judge are all gay. Anyone else experience this where they live?

My office knows that I recently came out of the closet to my family- which is fine, but making me feel young. Feeling the need to overcompensate as a result.
