I signed for a new job two months ago and will start next month (3 mo notice period in Europe). They were very keen on getting me on-board ASAP before signing but since I signed the contract it has been silent from the new employee. Let’s talk about wrongful termination. The other day I was fired in the middle of the day without any warning. My colleagues called me because they were confused on why the Talent Manager dismissed me from the chat. I didn’t know what they were referring to. So I called my PM to ask what was happening, and she said that she just got off the phone with the TM and said they were terminating my contract on the spot due to me speaking up about micromanaging. No explanation just kicked out. Advice?

My partner (also an attorney) is getting top surgery next month, and it will be an inpatient procedure. Any thoughts on how to explain to my firm that I will be out of touch for a day or two without getting too far into the weeds? Should I just say surgery? That seems dramatic.

So outside of law, my interactions with people are only at the gym given that my area is draining— particularly at the moment.
