Question from a newbie consultant - What are some good online courses/ books to improve consulting skills?

I have a consulting/PE interview on Friday, please recommend consulting books or sites to read. Need to speak consulting language

If your role is being closed/being laid off (not due to performance issues) just firm downsizing, do you tell the companies you are interviewing? How to phrase it?

What are some tips or pieces of advice that have profoundly changed your career for the better?

Did many firms give raises during covid or have firm addressed upcoming raises/bonuses that may have been forgone?

Trying to get a general consensus

Can anyone explain why insurance defence work in the US is such a terrible place to be? I work in insurance defence / coverage (financial lines) based in London and it doesn’t seem like it has as negative of a reputation as it does in the US, why is that? 👀

I have a coworker who keeps spouting comparative odds and situations in regards to the safety of the vaccine. Such as: you're twice as likely to get hit by lightening than have blod clots from JJ. It's very annoying and I find it to be really inapprorpriate, maybe because it's pushy or just I find these comparative things to be a bit irrelevant. How does one handle something like that? Can you shut the person down without starting a spat?

Am I being paid competitively? I have been the Onboarding Sup for my HR dept for over a year now and I’m being paid the state min for salary, which for CA is 62,400. I have not gotten a merit raise since the last 2 January’s, the state raises the threshold for salary folks. My company says that was my raise. Is this right? I bring a background from the clinical operations of my company, scheduling, field work, and what the average employee faces. I want to look else where but I’m not sure.

I've completed technical and managerial round at citiustech. It went well.
I'll have my HR round probably on Monday.
On their application they've said they're accepting only upto 60 days notice period candidates. But I'm having 90 days notice period, if I tell them about this 90 days notice period now in HR round will they understand my situation and select me?

Is there any chance of renegotiation of offered CTC in fidelity on already accepted offer. I have joining in mid November and recently got a higher offer from another company.

What’s the hierarchy in internal audit? It looks like director requires only about 10 years of experience. What’s after that? Do people just stay at that level for a while?
