What types of issues are you referring to? Student or admin related? Both combined?
I have struggled with this as well. The only thing I can suggest is just act in such a way that people know what you stand for. You don’t have to tell them. Modeling Christian behavior is a lot more effective that touting it or making it known. That’s just my experience.
And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” Endure HARDSHIP as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! (Hebrews 12)
I understand the question, I hope, as I've had kids directly ask me if I support LGBTQ. Once I explained that I love and care for everyone without regard to race, gender, etc. I them explained how they're not old enough to vote, fight in the military, or drive so that basically they're not old enough to make such life altering decisions. Unfortunately in this case the student ran out the door upset (the period had just ended). I would love to have this opportunity to explain myself better as I would also add the high suicide rates and other negative consequences for making such decisions. I try to respect them and call them by their preferred names and pronouns, but I keep questioning if I should continue that. I'm a substitute teacher so I have a hard enough time with their names already. These are not easy discussions and I'm always concerned for my job when these things come up. I try and write these in my notes for the teacher when these things come up.
