I just wanted to reach out and let you all know I understand how tired and beat down we all feel at this point in the year. I’m feeling it too. I also know exactly how students can try us. What I’m working on every day though is to see my kids as God does… not the kids that know how to push buttons and drive me crazy, but as the beautiful lives they are, all deserving of the best we can give them every day. I know it’s not easy, but that’s what I’m working on.

Advice or Book recommendations on how not to get bothered by others/ friends/ peers? What they think or what they do!

My wife reads nearly an entire book per day just in her spare time after work, no exaggeration. I’m amazed by her and wondering what ideas are out there to monetize her skill? Book editing maybe?

How do I figure out spending with my SO? Initially I was paying for 90% of stuff (no actual bills, just going out). I talked to her and said we need to be more even. She was never proactive. She kind of got offended but we ended on a good note to split things. It went well for a couple weeks but now it's back to normal. She never takes out her card and only venmos me if I send her the request. She lets Venmos sit for weeks before paying them. I still let a lot of things slide.

What would you do if you didn’t need money? I have a fair amount coming one day and don’t actually need to work to live a good life (middle / upper-middle class). I work because of this vague notion of “ambition” and because everyone I grew up around is highly competitive and hard driving. I made a mistake. I talked with the ex this morning. He said he misses me. And that while he walk talking to the other woman, he wished he was talking to me instead. And when he saw that I didn’t respond to his texts, he drank a shit ton. And then called this morning.

He’s not willing to commit to the other women because he’s not over me.

I teach 4th grade at a Christian school. I have been teaching for over 30 years but I have been at this school for 2 years. Since I have been working at this school it seems like everything I do in my classroom it's something wrong with it according to my supervisor. Recently, I was told that I am not getting a new contract for the new school year. I have to find a new school. I was told that I am not a good fit for the school.

How do y'all interact with your students when it comes to faith and your religion? Do your students know that you're a religious person?
I'm a youth leader at one of our local churches and I often talk to students who attend church about the services we have or suggest they should bring people.
Additionally, I have also started posting short videos on my instagram where I give a little encouraging message usually accompanied by a bible verse. Just a little something to show Jesus to students.

I just want to say I’m about to say a collective prayer for all of us as we finish up this school year. It’s been a tough one. Aren’t they all? But we’ve almost made it. Great job everyone. God loves you.

Does anyone out there agree that so much of the violence we are seeing in schools and society is a spiritual problem and not necessarily a political one? I’m not opposed to gun reform, but I think as long as a human being desires to hurt others, keeping people safe will be very difficult.

Please pray for me. I’m going back into the classroom soon. I praying for all of you too. This may be a rough reentry. But I know God is with us. He can absorb the bounce.

Asking for prayer… I’ve been sick with the flu since last Friday. I have severe asthma and this has knocked me out. Praying for complete healing with no residual effects.
