I liked my company’s referral bonus policy where you’d get $1000 if the person you referred stayed for six months. But now they’ve reduced it to just $100, which feels really discouraging. Honestly, who would go through the effort of convincing someone to join for only $100? Some company policy changes just make no sense and only demotivate employees instead of rewarding their contribution.
Is there any of your company policy that had demotivated you?

Mine completely changed our bonus structure and the new one sucks. They tried to convince us that it gave us a chance to get an even bigger bonus than before but added so many requirements that it's pretty much impossible. They made this change early last year, and I haven't heard a single person say they got more than the year before.

Wow, that’s a huge change. I wonder why they changed it? Probably due to them not having enough money to give anymore. It’s not important to refer someone if I were you unless you really care about the person.

Totally get that—it’s hard to feel motivated to refer someone for just $100 after it used to be $1000! Some policy changes really do make you scratch your head. For me, it’s always the ones that cut bonuses or recognition for extra effort, it just kills the motivation.

My long term goal is to have benefits be my main area of practice.
