Anyone have a good therapist in MA?
I’m not sure how this will impact this bowl, but it is worth pointing out the need to assess whether there should be concern for those in this bowl. While we all understand ADHD is something attorneys are completely capable of managing with legal positions, not everyone in the field agrees with that. https://joinfishbowl.com/post_va66ztgmkw

Question for you: I’ve been thinking of starting IF too. But I thought any coffee before you break your fast had to be black? No sugars, milks, creams or oils. Isn’t coconut oil not allowed during fasting hours?
There’s research out there that <50 calories within the fast period doesn’t break fast
VP1, hoping it gets better quicker🤣
Sc1, I did!
1 month in IF, and I am able to do it much better. 20 hr fasts are going smooth but I have tried 36 hour fast which I would like to in another month.
It’s been going well. The first 10 days were the hardest for me but now I feel much better, have more energy and have lost weight. I drink more water than before and also try my best to have low carb diet. I did feel like I was about to pass out if I had a very heavy carb diet and low protein meal before starting my fast in the early days.
It gets easier. Like you, I wanted to pass out after 2 hours on my first day.
Now I complete 7 day fasts (only water) twice a year. My brother does 21.
Trust me, it’s hard at first but then you get the hang of it. You will adjust!! The simple fact you decided to go this route is incredible. Keep us updated for sure.
7 days damn!
Please keep us updated, I want to see how you progress! I tip from someone who has IF before, drink a TON of water. Hungry? Drink water. Just pound it. Hunger comes in waves and drinking a bunch of water will help you get past it
This has worked for me once I ensures I wasnt over eating in the feeding period. Key for weight loss is creating caloric deficit. Multiple ways to get there, none of them are magic.
Ease into your fast window. But you get used to it pretty quick. Ans I was a lifelong breakfast eater.
Been doing IF for over two years. Started with Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Now OMAD. (One meal a day.) The hardest part is changing my behavior around thinking of food. Social media is so full of food cues that sometimes I just have to step away. But ultimately, this has allowed me to eat the foods I really really want to eat. And restrict calories at the same time. I’ve been a little lax with my eating window lately so I have plateaued a bit, but I know the routine and I know the solution. That said, it may not be for everyone. If you are one of those people who thinks about food and can’t get around the idea of skipping 20 hours of eating, and I know they are out there, intermittent fasting will not work for you. You’re better off counting calories. Which I hate.
We’re all different. I was pretty huge on IF, but yeah my body responds better to breakfast. I just eat like a 50/50 plant based diet and took dairy out. I track my calories instead. Find what works best for you.
I’d disagree with Sand1,
Anything hard and a new habit takes practice. Start at 12 hours and work your way up slowly to a longer time frame if that’s your goal.
