I live in metro Atlanta. I’m looking to move to a space that has a more suburban feel, but is still close enough to the city to not hamper my social life. I like going to the party - not constantly living in it. Any suggestions? Currently renting, but open to buying in the next three years.

South Sandy springs is nice. So is Vinings/Smyrna, which is a bit better in terms of traffic getting to midtown

South Sandy springs / right at 285&400

Based on what you’ve described try to stay walking distance to a neighborhood village where you will have bars, restaurants, and little shops…being just east of Piedmont park in morningside/Lenox park, VaHi, poncey higlands would give you those options and still manageable to get to the belt line to get to inman, o4w, grant park areas or up to buckhead if you wanted. Depending what flexibility you have with your career, if in midtown/downtown those areas are a quick drive or ebike ride.

Go live next to the nee braves stadium it’s by everything

1. Sandy Springs (been living here for 2 years & I love it)
2. Smyrna.

Thanks everyone! All suggestions are appreciated and additional ones are welcomed.

Brookhaven

Decatur.

Woodstock, Roswell, and Alpharetta are all probably more suburban than you’re looking for, but offer some unique options when it comes to walkable bars, dining, shopping, and often at a better price point than places in Atlanta proper. Still easy to get to the places you need in the city in 20-40 mins, but understand not everyone is game for that much driving.

Alpharetta has been great for me with a family, and has a great downtown. However, it might be a tad slow if I was still single. The commute in is not great, but it's a great area once you decide to settle down. Buying in such an area while you are single might be a pretty good investment in your future.

Smyrna/Mableton!

Brookhaven, Decatur, North Druid Hills, Virginia Highlands

Just Us neighborhood

Cute house for sale here now. It is suburban in the middle of the mix. Close to arena and stadium. 15 mins to office. Beltline goes right next to the neighborhood. The west side is starting to grow and thrive.

Look at Smyrna or Mableton for single family homes. Also there are several new townhomes under construction ITP near Marietta Blvd and Bolton Rd.

Dunwoody!

Roswell or Sandy Springs

My niehgborhood rents thier terrace apt. Jefferson park

Vinings or Smyrna

Decatur (love this area and good food options depending on where in Decatur you live), vinings (or somewhere around the battery), Brookhaven is great, or Virginia highlands if you want to be closer to the city (I live here and love it)

East Atlanta Village
- 10 minutes to the city
- great local feel
- good restaurants and bars
- more value

Honestly, where I live in midtown is super quiet yet close to everything. So if you’re fine with an apartment or condo and can afford one that’s decent and occupied by mostly young professionals, that could be a great choice. Otherwise Colonial Homes, Reynoldstown, Smyrna, Decatur, VA highlands maybe?

Morningside, Brookhaven, or Candler Park

Perimeter but near either Sandy Springs or Dunwoody Marta. The Lofts is a great location if you rent.

Hello everyone! This is my first time posting since joining this platform. I’m interested in connecting with someone who is open to HR mentoring. I’ve been in HR now for about six years and have never had a mentor. I’ve been relying mostly on SHRM and other people in the company for feedback. Even if it’s for feedback, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
