I made a reservation for my family at JW Marriott in India and they found someone dirty clothes and underwear near lamp in the room, the Marriott people came and cleaned the room and offered free dinner I feel really terrified where on their website they say we clean do well and this happened with COVID going on. Should they compensate me with points?

First are you really worried about COVID in the room? If so, the points and free rooms won’t compensate the fact that they probably didn’t clean the room. I’d press on this point and demand a room change and comped room for at least 1-2 nights for the inconvenience and 100,000 points for putting you at risk. The numbers above and how much you push vary depending on your status.

All good now you know for next time. At this point worth a shot to try.

This happened to me once, found dirty underwear in the bedsheets! I called down to the lobby, they switched my room, gave me 100k points and upgraded status for the rest of the year.

Definitely call and maybe reach out to bonboy helpline. You should hold JW brand to a high standard.

idk, you can try, but you’re going to have a weak argument considering your parents already accepted compensation in the form of dinner

I wrote a rec letter for one of my legal assistants for law school right before COVID got bad and we all started working remote. Ever since then, this assistant has seemingly been slacking. There’s only so much I can actually see/review without seriously micromanaging her. I’ve spoken to her about her slacking at least twice and both times she just brushed it off. I want to withdraw my rec letter, but I feel like it’s too late. She is leaving at the end of the summer. Should I just let it be?

I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
