Does anyone have any insight into accounting roles at Amazon, particularly in the Arlington/DC area? An Amazon recruiter reached out about accounting roles, but the posts in this bowl are about Seattle. Trying to decide if the culture/wlb/pay is even worth looking into since it sounds like the interview process is intense. Base pay seemed pretty low in other posts, but they were a year old and for Seattle.

I would probably follow your list of options in that exact order lol. If you think the equity is worthwhile, grind it out for a bit. Then try one more industry gig. If your next industry gig is not fulfilling, consulting is your best bet.
I view options as:
1. Stay here and put more effort into the work, knock out a couple more years until PE sells and my equity options get cashed out.
2. Make the jump to a larger (probably public) company as a SM/asst controller/divisional controller and see if a larger company provides me more happiness in my work.
3. Jump back to B4 or Consulting. I wouldn't want to go back to auditing, so accounting advisory although I think some sort of controllership consulting or management consulting I would enjoy more.
Any thoughts/advice or things to consider are appreciated.
Also adding, I currently am underpaid. Could probably jump to another industry role and make around 30-35% more (about $40k). My question in current income is the value of my options which I think would be worth around $200k+ in 2ish years upon a change in ownership.
