I am stuck in IR purgatory. I hate IR. I started off my career ten years ago as a deal guy. Then my firm asked me to shoulder IR responsibilities as well. Now I am finding each job I change to promise “you will do both IR and deals” but it’s always a lie. The firms just want a fundraiser. Deal people are more plentiful. How do I get out of this trap?

Considering a move to NTT Data in a healthcare consulting role. Mixed reviews in the bowls. Major concerns are bench policy, staff aug roles, 2 week PTO, and high turnover due to job dissatisfaction. Started at a big firm in July with high hopes- in the career path I wanted and I would be joining with other new grads.
After onboarding, it’s as if my team forgets about us every day. The training is non existent, there doesn’t seem to be any initiative to invest in new hires, my manager scolds me for not knowing enough yet gives no direction. I have accepted an offer for the role of Director of Data Science & Analytics and I'll be working with old colleagues. I am very excited. I haven't given notice yet because I am waiting for the background check to complete, but my boss just asked me about traveling to a meeting in November. I start at the new job Oct 25.
