I really wish I was neurotypical. I feel like neurotypicals have such a better balance in life and know who they are more.

I feel like being neurodivergent in a demanding job leaves little room for anything else in life because we have to work harder so our whole lives become about work.

Thats how I’m feeling anyway. Its Saturday, I should be doing something enjoyable but I don’t even know what that is anymore & I’m just worried about Monday already

I feel this so much. It’s like work takes up every ounce of energy, and there’s none left for figuring out what “balance” even looks like. You’re not alone in this. Maybe starting small—finding one thing that brings a little joy—could help? Even just resting today is valid. Be kind to yourself. ❤️

I’m so sorry you’re feeling like this. For what it’s worth neurotypical people can have shitty lives. Sending strength your way.

And seemingly more confident! Also a bit down because we have this neurodivergence channel on slack and - no offence to back office workers - but it seems ONLY back office people and made me feel alone again. I’ve never found “my people” and I think neurodivergence plays a part. I’ve just accepted now that I’ll always feel outside. Here at mck I am consistently battling imposter syndrome and find that things just don’t come as naturally (as you said OP)

Classically the grass is always greener on the other side. Cannot tell you how many times I wished my head was ‘normal’ so I didn’t have to navigate all the things that come with it being not. End of the day though, these are the cards and you can do the best you can with them!

I get what you are saying but I find that we also have qualities that others don't and wish they had. I think the grass is always greener so its easy to think that it would be better to be nuerotypical but we have never been so there really is no knowing for sure.

Which qualities are those?

I’ve worked in sales for 12 years (8 years retail sales and management, 4 years inside tech sales and management). I’m feeling the burn and looking for something else in the tech field. I’m pretty good at Salesforce and have thought about a SFDC admin type role, but that’s all I’ve thought of so far.

Is negotiating offers the norm now? I’ve been at my company awhile and at the time I was hired they said they don’t do negotiations, take it or leave it and they’d offer the next person. I do believe we renegotiate now, however I’m not sure if it’s the rule, the exception, or somewhere in the middle?

Feel like audit scheduling is always done on a knifes edge in that the timeline and staff schedules are enough so that if everyone works 60 hour weeks and no issues are identified then it can be filed on time. But even small things that increase the work can wildly throw off the schedule and cause hours to skyrocket for the staff on the job. No real point here, just ranting.

Here is my dilemma: I was passed up for manager promo last year and rightfully so a lot of my feedback was definitely correlated to me not properly handing my symptoms causing a good bit of inconsistencies in my performance especially if I lacked interest. This year I’ve crushed it and switched up projects off of ones that I’ve long been on. The few people who “advocate” for me seem to be stuck on things that seem either 1) so unsubstantiated and show that they are too far detached from the …

Anyone else find that they are just miserable in the mornings and getting out of bed is the biggest chore? I’ve been like this as long as I can remember and in my readings it seems like could be...

First day of 30mg vyvanse today. Had a rush of energy and hyperfocus (too much so) about 2-4 hours in, but had a complete crash 5hrs after taking the pill (just a wave of fatigue, felt very good after a quick 15min nap actually) and not sure if it had any effect after. Is this normal? Should I stick it out for a few days or is this a big sign that I’m not on the right meds/dose? Nervous to keep trialling this during the workday since a midday crash is not ideal. Appreciate any advice!
