I’ve been having insomnia lately (around 1 month). Tried the usual, lighter dinners, no caffeine etc. with no improvement…. Have been taking Focalin for +\- 8 months. I‘m mindful of timing as well to not interfere with sleep my schedule. Now I wonder if switching to Vyvanse or something else might help.
Any experience with switching ADHD meds to improve sleep?

Melatonin also helps me fall asleep. I probably take like 1-2.5 mg bc it also makes me groggy. Sleep is more important than anything, so if there’s a way for you to not take focalin for a few days to identify whether that’s the main issue, I would definitely suggest that.

Unfortunately, I don’t think there are a lot of stimulants that won’t impact your sleep. I try to take adderall only 2-3 times a week and I try to set up my week so I have 2 “productive days” and the remaining days are probably at 25-50% productivity.

Try taking melatonin, 5mg a night has worked wonders for me and I’ve always had issues sleeping

Seconding melatonin, it's made a huge difference for me

Melatonin is all you need. I've been through the same situation for 7 months. Was depressed due to the passing of someone dear to me. Had to quit my job for that because I don't want anyone else to suffer. My doctor friend gave me melatonin as supplement. After more than a week I started to sleep well.

Melatonin never worked for me. I don't know why but it didn't help me sleep at all. Nothing has ever really worked.

Talking with your doctor is the first step! But if you think that medication is best for you then there may be other ways to help with your sleep issues.
It is common for ADHDers to struggle with sleep (falling asleep and waking up) since we have a delayed circadian rhythm. Melatonin does help a lot along with white noise and a weighted blanket. I have also found that meditation or breath work helps with falling asleep and then a sunrise alarm clock help decrease the amount of times I sleep through my alarm. I am on adderall and haven’t noticed it impacting my sleep but it is extremely dependent on each individual.

I consistently take 5mg of melatonin and 5mg of THC. Of course the THC supplement is only legal in certain states.

I was on Wellbutrin and at first it helped clear my mind so I could actually fall asleep. Unfortunately for me it eventually worked too well and I hyper focused badly. I’m on Prozac now and I swear it needs to be in the water supply!

I would talk to your doctor. They may be able to prescribe a different medication as it sounds like you are having side effects.

Seeking feedback on GAP insurance. I had a family member who purchased a car in June or July. They were in an accident last week and it sounds like the car will be declared a total loss. Never dealt with this before, so wanted to ask if anyone has ever had an instance where the insurance didn't cover the outstanding balance of the loan and the insured then owed money? Car was $35k, $7k down, finance $28k. Gap insurance is through lender, not auto insurer.

What are your thoughts on pay discrepancies based on family structure? Ex.
