I don't know what the market is like, but I would take it. You can always leverage into a different PE shop for higher pay once in. Another $20K/year right now really won't matter long run. Breaking into pe is far more important.
Thank you. This is great advice
What skill set do you need for portfolio operations role?
Stategy and ops generally. Depends quite a bit on the PE. Skills should fit investment portfolio focus.
I think this is really low. I had an offer for 200k with 2YOE.
Going to another fund as ops isnt as easy as not a lot of firms have ops team.
Moving to front office / deal team is rare. And they should be making 200k+ with same/similar experience as yours.
The work can be miserable if the team is small and has no structure.
Cost cutting project may not be the most fun work or provide great exit ops.
PE ops is not breaking into PE because there is little to no equity for non-partners.
200K for PE Ops?
How many years of exp that u have?

PE has way more qualified candidates than open positions, so in this instance you most likely don't want to do anything that may make them rethink the offer. Also Ops in PE generally pays less than investing roles
That’s low. How many years experience do you have? The work will vary but for the most part it is not very different from other consulting. What’s drawing you to it?
90 seems more fair then. I work closely with a PE ops team. They work long hours, engagements are longer but the style can be nicer - more results oriented with no pressure to make the prettiest slides or keep clients happy
