I received an offer the other day that was lower than what I was making. I understood that I wouldn’t be making what I was but they stated that what I was making. I let them know that I would reach out to them with my decision today before 4pm. I sent an email countering at 11:41am. I then called later in the afternoon as I didn’t hear anything. How long should I wait or should I move on???

Unless they really want to, i would assume they think youre rejecting since you didnt send an acceptance and it was so close to 4p. In the future, my timeline generally is:
At time of offer receipt: i ask for a few days to consider the offer
Day after offer receipt: ask for a call to discuss some qs re the offer (and use that call to negotiate)
When they get back to you with the updated offer: then give your final answer before the offer expiration deadline

I think you tried to negotiate too late in this situation

I would look at it as you dodged a bullet.

I see red flags for sure.

Keep applying and wait

I started QA at the company I am currently at 3 years ago. Long story short, within 4 months at the company, I was able to make a career change and step into a PM position. Without having the formal education or PM experience, only my 5 years in QA experience. When I started I made $65k and have jumped to $78k. I have seen other companies post $100k+. Annual review is tomorrow. Should I fight for more or look for more somewhere else if I lose that fight?

Anybody know salary range for VP Operations for GS in SLC?

Currently going through some negations on an internal role. I’m currently at 88k and they offered me 100k for a position that requires a lot more work. Do you guys think it’s easier to land a higher salary when applying externally rather than internally? Also this is for a territory sales management role. They stated 120k+ is extremely high for that role. What do you guys think? Playing the game?

What's the best form of compensation to ask for and why?

My employers' CEO just announced that they just received $7 million from investors. He wants to use that money to offer incentives to employees that hussle and drive more revenue for the company. We're not sure what those incentives look like yet, but here are some post-announcement rumors from my co-workers:

Cash bonuses, raises, profit-sharing, company equity, 401k match, etc.

I’m currently in a lease admin type role, in commercial real estate. I make a base salary of $50.5K with about $9k in bonuses. I’ve continuously received 7-10% raises over the last 3 years. I anticipate getting a promotion this year and would like to get closer to $60k for my base salary. I’m the only person in my role at the company and have been a key person in developing our team as we look to expand. Is this unreasonable? Is there a normal increase given with promotions? Thanks in advance!

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.
