I’m very nervous because the group with whom I’m interviewing works with life science/tech clients and the attorneys have strong science/tech backgrounds; and I do not. Hello, I worked 1 year as a 'Senior Data Engineer' at 110k base. I then was offered and accepted a role as 'Service Manager' at 155k base where I worked another year. Just recently accepted a 'Data Engineer' job at 155k base but with a larger company (in theory with potential to grow).

Hey all, Happy Monday. Curious for feedback on how you've seen severance offers approached.

My prior companies have always been what I thought of as average: min of 2 weeks plus extra week for every year for ICs, min of 4 weeks plus extra week for every year for managers, etc. for Directors & beyond.

Current co refuses to offer more than 1-2 weeks, max. I had to go to bat recently for a 3 year + manager level only to get 3 weeks and my leadership team is NOT happy with me.

Working at hybrid model of IT company and PSU company. My employer IT company lost bid and now the contract is of another company. We have been asked that contract over as on 31.7.2022 and we are supposed to go and sit at company office. It's a loss of pay for 100 people on project. Our company said we can't join new bidder company because we signed agreement on offer letter that we won't be joining client for atleast a year. It's inconvenient and crazy for us.

Last year when Covid broke, I received a couple of interview calls but ignored them as I felt the organization kept me at work when other companies cut short their HR staff so I should be with them even if with no appraisal. But now, I was living in the fool's paradise when I am told to leave with no job offers in hand, car and home loan, dependent parents, expecting jobless spouse with a 3-year old kid.

Now HCL is ready to revise offer again.
