Have you followed up with the HM or just two messages to HR? I’d reach out to the HM too. Someone could be out on vacation or they could be backlogged and playing catch up.
Your first mistake was the two-week notice. You ever heard of someone getting a two-week lay-off/firing notice? Ridiculous concept.
Is there any other way you can contact them, not just HR? HR can be notoriously slow with these things.
I left a long term position that was high stress and very demanding. We had several team members quit due to this. The remaining team members then had to pick up the slack and do the work of 2 with no wage compensation at all. This went on for over a year and burnout was a very real thing. I was then offered a position with another company. I did my research and it looked so promising. I gave my notice after 20 years. The first two weeks with the new company I new something was off and had doubts. Lots of office politics and drama. I stuck it out for 3 months hoping it would improve. I finally had to give notice to protect my mental and physical health as they were both taking a nose dive after the three month. I called and asked about my old job to find out they had to hire two people to replace me.
Email HR and CC the Hiring Manager.
If you are in the on-boarding process it’s unlikely that you are being ghosted, but from my perspective this is a red flag.
Do whats best for you with the facts you have available.
Sometimes the drug screening and onboarding process takes a while. I got an offer May 29th and did my drug screening on Jun 3rd. They messed up the paperwork and didn't submit my drug screening results until Jun 25, 3 weeks after I quit my old job. I finally get to start work next week. I got ghosted on the communication too, but I just kept calling every other day till they figured it out
