I recently had an interview for an internal promotion. I feel like I botched it and simply just failed to communicate clearly. I focused too much on what others told me I should talk about rather than just being myself. I know I’m much better than how I came off and I’m now super anxious. Would following up with the hiring manager with a quick call to acknowledge my shortcomings be acceptable?

I’m in the biglaw hiring process through an outside recruiter. It’s so frustrating because he’s having these conversations with the firm and only paraphrasing the gist of them to me. He says he can’t forward the exact emails. Is that BS? Why can’t I see what the firm is telling my recruiter?
