At what point in your career would you consider moving from consulting to industry? Looking at the sustainability strategy side of things

is it safe to move to healthcare organization which is established in India only 2 years ago, but in US it was established around 160+ years ago, keeping in mind on recession and job security?

I am planning to leave my firm after busy season and I am wondering if I should let them know this is my last busy season or stay quite and just give my 2 weeks after busy season? I really like the people I work with and I think I could boomerang (read to many posts of people who boomerang and I fit the "type"). Should I tell them know or just stay silent and give my 2 weeks notice?

Which practice group (m&a, capital markets, or funds) would be best for someone who genuinely doesn’t care about this job/law but wants to stay in biglaw (NYC) as long as possible? Some folks say m&a is more “intellectually stimulating” and I wonder, for that reason, perhaps capital markets might suit me? (I’d rather take mind numbing repetitive tasks over more “challenging” deals)

Recent PhD in life science looking to get into biotech VC. Can’t find much information on applying for these roles. I’ve heard that it’s not uncommon to go in without business/finance experience, but is it actually rare?

I’ve got a friend in Dubai who has experience in IB and VC at junior levels (in London and Dubai) and would like to break into consulting. He’s at a small cap VC at the moment and works not that challenging, and he wants to break into MBB or tier 2 for strategy. Anyone happy to look at his CV?

I can really use some direction. My background, I've worked 2 years in strategy and am currently coming off an exhausting year 2 in investment banking. I didn't particularly enjoy either role and am not interested in moving over to the buy-side or some monotonous FP&A role. Everybody says there's exit-ops aplenty, but I find myself with less options and even more picky than I did as an ambitious T2 undergrad student. Where do I go from here?

I’m four months into my job and I got put onto a PIP. I worked so hard to break into IB, put up all the hours and even working 2am nights for weeks, learned a ton, and improved a lot along the way as the sole analyst yet this happens. I’m extra worried because it doesn’t seem there’s IB analyst positions out there. Im really hoping come January more positions come up but I’m just praying they don’t fire me until then. Anyone have general tips for this situation?

Hi Folks, I am working in infy and planning to drop paper this week. As I don't have offer in hand but 90 days NP impacting to get new job. Also my compansation is not good as per exp. So that is the first reason and no new tech learning and project change happening with me. Also in last cycle they didn't give good rating bcoz i was asking for new project ..??

Working remotely for a tech co and still can't get over how much more time I get to spend with my kids. To be honest, this alone is worth so much more than money can buy. There’s no reason you have to put up with a job you hate. I spent many years working in a toxic environment with a boss who gossiped and lead through fear. He wasn’t really much of a leader but basically a foreman. And he could make my existence miserable. I admit that it wasn’t easy to find another job but the bottom line is: trust your guts. If you feel something is wrong it’s because it probably is. Don’t second guess yourself. Look for options and and fight for your mental health.

Do PE funds have in house tech DD teams? Currently on a tech dd team that’s aligned to PE transactions and trying to figure out what exit opportunities there are. Thanks for your insights!

Was just told to "grow our ESG/CSR" practice at a regional consulting firm, due to my recent grad certification in sustainable biz strategy. Wondering where I should focus us as a services industry for big impact: we have a large product innovation, digital engineering area, and know in the past we've had a lot of lip service to clients and only recorded ESG for their compliance.
