I remember during covid everyone and their mother were hyping up how great and awesome FDD was and now that I'm finally here it's the same sh*t, just a different flavor of accounting.

Hours are unpredictable, stress ebbs and flows with a higher baseline of stress than audit or industry. I thought I'd be happier once I made it to fdd but that definitely isn't the case. Does it get better or do I pivot from accounting altogether

Definitely better than audit

like

Audit isn't too bad. They're the same thing applied to different contexts and situations.

It used to be that you had to spend two years in audit to even have a chance of getting into FDD. Count your blessings.

You're surprised to find FDD is accounting?

Touché!

You'd likely hate other things as much. My advice is to stay positive and look at the bright side instead.. good luck

depends on what you’re interested in

IMO it’s worth spending time to think about if it’s reasonable to expect your job to make you happy

some people love their job, sure

some people, it’s just a job. it’s okay not to like it

i would also try to focus more on what you like vs what you read online. you know yourself best

like

It doesn’t get better. It really only makes sense to do FDD for the money or love of the game. Those are the trade offs you have to accept to have one of the highest paying career paths in accounting.

I actually enjoy working with my clients in FDD, assuming they're not the type of client that just treats us as a check the box

like

I’ve never heard anyone say that FDD was awesome 😂.

I enjoy it

FDD was the worst during COVID (brutally busy) so you did not get clear advice. That said i much prefer it to audit

Im from a coastal city so covid lasted until 2022....late 2020 through late 2021 was brutal times

Looks like FDD has reached critical mass

i will admit the job market is quite grim compared to back then

I don’t recall anyone was hyping up FDD?Just a lot of complaints about hours and pay back then

lol have done this for a decade. During the COVID frenzy this fishbowl was filled with complaints about being overworked / not paid enough.

[Facebook Ads Data VS Google Analytics Data] 🤯

How can I merge FB and GA data? Some clients of mine believe that Facebook doesn't bring us results 'cause GA says so. The difference between the two of them is A LOT. Facebook says we have 100 conversions and GA only reports 2. How can I prove to them that Facebook does its job? What data can I show?

Currently a staff in audit - 6 months in. Glad to be learning a lot, and have had a generally positive experience at the firm other than a few interactions, some tough busy season nights. Really been intrigued by TAS/M&A, however, and had a few convos with a senior in TAS i know at the firm. It’s closer to what I studied, but don’t know how to make the jump as it seems an internal transfer could take 6+months/senior rank and a lot of convincing. Is it better to jump firms/has anyone done this?
