Has anyone moved from FDD to Strategy? I have an offer for FDD but long term goal is to break into strategy. Don’t want to have to get an MBA unless it’s firm sponsored…and FDD is easier to get in compared to Strategy

I did at KPMG but it was part of a campus hire rotation. Liked the work and ended up staying in the group.

Yeah unfortunately KPMG stopped doing that rotation program this year

In 10 years I haven’t seen a direct FDD to true strategy move at a major firm. A handful of jumps to small consulting firms you might call strategy adjacent or at EY to EYP non-strategy groups (Rx or working cap advisory as examples). You’re also going to struggle to find a firm sponsored MBA where they are paying for you to do an MBA for purposes of transferring you into strategy. If you’re dead set on wanting to do strategy, take the FDD role and plan to apply to top MBAs next year using that experience (and suck it up and pay for it)

Quite common in Canada, but pay is much lower and the teams are much smaller.

KPMG will put you in Strat after your 2 associate years in FDD if you ask (or at least they promised). Sucks that they scrapped the campus hire rotation but I’m not surprised.

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

We have an org chart in our dashboard ATS/HRIS and so I clicked on my first day buddies name just for fun.

I was able to see her entire employee file..even her address. I was really freaked out and I went to another profile and the same thing happened, I was able to see this person's emergency contact. Is this fucking normal? Should I say something and will I get in trouble for looking at a colleagues file?
