They cannot prove Macroevolution. The atheists are just blabbering on Microevolution.
One thing I have learnt is that, Bible is the infallible scripture. If we closely look in the Genesis chapter 1, each verse is written perfectly. No atheist can argue against the Bible verses. Its their interpretation and lack of understanding of those verses creates the problem.
I don't think the Genesis creation story proves God exists. Rather, it builds the moral foundation for the natural law and also prefigures the coming of Christ. The human author of Genesis was Moses, and God appeared to him and conversed with Moses. Moses wrote the story of Genesis to build the moral foundation of the Jewish faith, which we have been grafted onto through Christ.
But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 2 Peter 3:8

Yea, the creation day is definitely not 24 hours. It could span 1000 or even millions of years. It's his part of creation and Biblr never tells us it's following the same Gregorian calender system.
This is one important point where atheist argue like they have got a fossil which is 50k years old. "See what does the Bible say, 6th day animals, 7th day humans. Bible is wrong."
It's the interpretation that went wrong, not the scripture.
Here's a novel thought - if anything relating to evolution is true, it is because it comes from God. Case is point, microevolution. Our faith tells us that regardless of whether or not evolution is true in its entirety, it only matters inasmuch we recognize that at one point, the human race did not exist. God created us in his image, male and female. He made us the highest of His creatures, and Satan and his fallen angels hate us for it.
Theologians have said that the creation stories in Genesis are poetry that are meant to prefigure the coming of Christ. A day in Genesis does not necessarily mean 24 hours. Even Joshua, son of Nun, was given the ability to pause the sun. Jesus's hour of passion eventually came, but if we ponder His time on the cross, he hung for 3 hours according to the gospels.
