I see posts from the lawschooladmissions subreddit. Have grade inflation and LSAT score inflation skyrocketed? When I was applying to law school in the early 2010s, my GPA was above median for every school other than HYS. Today, it would be below the 25th percentile for most of the T50. And everyone seems to have an LSAT score above 170 in the subreddit (and they’re getting rejected from a ton of schools). That score seemed insane when I was applying.

7 year lawyer here. Been with the same big national firm all 7 years (not BigLaw) doing complex litigation. Been working remote a long time due to moving around for wife’s job. As a result of the moving was bumped off partner track. I’m looking at a great small firm that will be a practice change (but still litigation). Random partner asked a litigation-related question to a partner I frequently work with (i’m a transactional associate). My partner cc’d me and said for me to briefly look. Asked the library. They got me a great case. Sent it back. Now the random partner is asking for more cases in another circuit.

Anyone have slow months where you burn through a lot of your allotted pro bono/professional development hours to keep hitting minimum daily hours? The past few weeks have been like this for me. Should I be concerned (I.e., will this reflect poorly on me, come review time? Will I have dug myself too much of a hole if I keep burning my non-billable hours?) I’ve been asking partners if I can assist in any projects so I can fill my plate, but I’ve only gotten small (4-6 hour) tasks handed my way.

Any Atomic Habit readers here? I’m brainstorming identity-based habits for two things I want to change:
