My friend got offers from Rockwell automation, inc and Capgemini.
The offer iis 17 LPA fixed from CapG and 17.5 Fixed + 2.5 Variable from Rockwell.
He wants to work as consultant and CapG is giving him that and Rockwell is giving him Developer designation.
His yoe is 4.5y. He is confused about where he should join.
PS He is in IOT and isn't in fishbowl yet. He will be soon, but in the meanwhile, it will be nice if anyone can clear the confusion or recommend something.

Can you pay mine too?
Good for you. Did the note have a clause that prevents you from feeling empathy for others?

I signed a promissory note. I paid it all back.
That makes you more honorable than all the investment banks who borrowed money they couldn’t pay back in 2008-2009 but were bailed out as too big to fail. I thought capitalism was supposed to be a risk business.
Jesus paid it all back.

Even without signing a promissory note, that’s dedication
Is this the support for the repayment?
So?
Is this about student loan forgiveness? You realize people discharge debt every day in bankruptcy. The government forgave PPP loans just in the last few years. Where was your indignation then?
I agree it’s simplistic, but it’s a simple example. The government provides all sorts of subsidies. I’m not sure what LoS you’re in, but it’s rampant to the point that much of our tax and consulting business is built it around exploiting those benefits. The only reason the public isn’t up in arms about that is they don’t understand them. Thus, I’m surprised so many people feel this way. The student debt situation is a legitimate crisis- it impacts whether people can buy homes or make basic savings. The reality is when they don’t there is a broader societal impact, i.e, we all bear the cost anyways. It was a somewhat predatory crisis that has only somewhat been addressed. Maybe you are on of these people, but I’m not moralizing or judging people who are struggling to repay their loans. There are a host of government handouts I am far more pissed about (honestly anything that benefits the fossil fuel, financial services, big pharma).
More importantly, there are all kinds of student loan repayment plans (income based repayment and government service related write offs) that equate to so much more than this plan so it’s strange people are getting bent out of shape about 10k.
