So...who is single and ready to mingle? ✍️
Hi Friends, Currently I am working in Accenture Level: 9. Package: 13.5 fixed. Total YoE : 12.5yrs. I am from Finance background. Gradually I moved into Business Intelligence. I have joined Accenture last year August. I know the package I am receiving is comparatively low. I am learning Cloud. Now My query is, should I be focusing on up skiling my technical expertise or should I be moving into the management side. Your genuine advise is appreciated. Thank you in advance ☺️
We're all going a little crazy
Hi everyone I got an offer from EY India . I wanted to know the salary structure because in my offer letter they have not mentioned Gratuity, medical insurance and the percentage or amount of performance bonus. So all these components are included in the Total compensation mentioned or they are above the compensation mentioned . Please take a look at ss.

Dude, I’m an accountant for 10 years and would leave the accounting world in a heart beat and join a Carpenters union tomorrow if I could. I can’t do that because of the income and obvi the federal benefits and security.
Accounting sucks, don’t let anyone tell you different lol. If you can, make the switch now to something you really want to do.
Score well on the GMAT and none of that will matter.
You need one thing for a top MBA program: a competitive test score for the school you're applying to.
Want to go to Cornell, then get a 710+ GMAT, want Ross, then 720+, Etc.
With the right score you will get into somewhere with great career opportunities l. You're not the first accountant at top bschools and you won't be the last.
Well I'm not URM and not a woman if that helps to know
MBA exits and earning potential is similar to CFO/top controller if you stick out. That’s why I didn’t go MBA route

Top15 MBA programs, MBB = Big 3 consulting firms, IB = investment banking
What would you rather be doing? Figure that out before you do anything drastic. Is it accounting that you don't like or just working in general?
Can you do a service line rotation or transfer? That has helped me a lot. Did a rotation in an advisory service line and transferred permanently after last busy season. Couldn’t be happier. And if the opportunity presents itself, I’ll apply to another service line and just keep moving myself further away from accounting without going back to school
I have a degree in accounting and got my MBA. Depending on the school, it may not be an issue at all to get into and complete the program. I do financial services advisory and audit now for a niche industry that I did additional specialized on the job training for.
I feel like the MBA was absolutely worth it. I learned a lot and it helps so much with identifying risks in various processes when it comes to internal audit. I’m a total dork for control testing, especially for non financial reporting risks, and the MBA is probably where I developed that love which happens to also be very marketable.
I have an MBA with an accounting degree. I know a lot of people with accounting degrees getting MBAs or have an MBA.
I actually got it to transition out of old job. I have a MBA from a top school and doing Tax at EY 🤣. No idea where to start explaining how that happened. Don’t do that. I was only commenting that accounting degrees are not looked down on for MBA programs. If you get a good GMAT score you will be fine

How deep? If you are in the 4-7 YOE mark, a Full Time MBA will help you pivot to something else
I know plenty of accountants that made it into top business schools even from mid tiers
Check out r/MBA for good info, and please do not consider attending any business school below rank 15!
Wouldn't say T15 has to be a firm cutoff. UCLA, Georgetown, etc are great MBA schools as well. Advice could be more general to say that make sure the employment reports support your career goals.
Example: A regional no-name MBA without a career report likely is not a good move if you're looking to make a career jump.
Want to work at Microsoft or other tech firms in the Pacific North West? Foster could be a good move, especially if money is in play.
