I started a job with a group of Attys, we are all contractors for a AmLaw 200 firm. There is one atty that constantly asks questions that are irrelevant, interrupts trainers and monopolizes the conversation. I already can’t stand this atty. Today on a training regarding a discovery software atty asked stupid questions and we run out of time in our meeting to talk about the important stuff. The more senior Attys do not seem bothered by this. Is it me who is problematic? I haven’t said anything.

While telling the company (with x offer) that i have got offer from another company, do i have to show the whole offer letter to negotiate? And if i'm showing only the salary breakup page, should i hide the company logo?

So my peers in my team earn double what I earn and work significantly less, get promoted over me and have bonuses. Also get to make decisions over my goals and such. I have a new leadership now but how do I escape this?

Does anyone here suffer from bipolar disorder? How do you manage it and working in law? I see a therapist, and a psychiatrist, and am on medication, but I still have days where I wake up and I’m so depressed I can’t move. I’m working on remedying this with my doctors, but how does one approach mental health issues with their employer? I never felt the need to until I realized how much being bipolar can affect my ability to work.

Billables are low this month. Like I have 65 billable hours in so far. I’ve messaged partners over the last week to try and get more cases but there are tons of new associates who were just onboarded and were at a low point for business. I’m freaking out

Want to negotiate salary at an AMLAW200 firm in atlanta. Not a lot of public information about what peer firms (ie, not NY lockstep firms matching cravath scale) pay. What are mid-senior level associates making in Atlanta?

I have a promising interview at a relatively large law firm in my area (+100 attorneys) next week. The position is for a transactional role in their real estate practice group, and they are seeking someone with at least 2 YOE. I have a bit over 7 YOE with a strong real estate/commercial lit. background. Over the past two years in my current position, I've been doing a lot more transactional work. The split is around 50% transactional and 50% lit.

I’m a second year BigLaw associate that pays market. I was offered the position at a modified salary and hourly expectation due to their expected work flow needs. I’m wondering what is the best way to approach the topic of getting on the full salary/hours. Do I wait until the bonuses are given at the end of my first year? Or bring it up at mid-year review? Any trial prep tips and tricks for an associate second-chairing a medical malpractice case for the first time?

2020 grad M&A/PE Associate in LCOL area thinking about moving to a ECVC/M&A boutique. I generally like the work I do and the people I work with, but I really don’t like the hours and the constant late nights and weekends. Currently on pace for 2250. Boutique I have been eyeing has billable hour requirement of 1500-1600 and comes with a 20-25% paycut. Is this a stupid idea and should I grind it out until I can move in house? Will this ruin my opportunities down the road?

How many billable hours per week is considered at capacity? I’m getting pushback on boundaries I’m setting about additional matters and marketing work from my firm when I’ve been billing 60-75 hours per week for the last 6 weeks, and I’m still behind on my work. I feel like it’s reasonable to not kill myself further to fit in more/turn things around faster at this point, but am I being unreasonable? I expect my workload to remain at this level through the end of the year at least.

Could anyone shed some light on the working environment at Arnold & Porter? I've been offered a role as a trainee lawyer but wanted to know if its a safe environment in the sense that I could ask for support if I ever needed it.
