There is no need to post the same post in both the BigLaw and Law bowls (and not limited to union poster). Pretty much everyone subscribes to both. Stop it.

I’m sure you’re a blast at parties

likefunny

Now imagine being at the party and you have a conversation with someone. Wrap up and leave to room just to go to the back patio and have the same conversation all over again with the same person. Sounds like a blast.

I don’t because I’m not in big law, but I also don’t really care about big law specific issues.

I currently work at a large research institution and am in the process of getting retroactively reclassified to a new title (Long story but my PI is cheap and routinely pays ppl the bare minimum so now the Union is helping me w/ a retro reclass.) Reclass can take 2 - 6 months to process. Meanwhile, I am interviewing for industry job. If I get an industry job, what do I do if my reclass isn’t processed yet? I want the title and the money owed which may be about $15000- 20000.

I’m looking to get more work for my company. Wondering if any reps here would like to chat? Thanks!

I have an interview for an in house position (only attorney) at a small non-profit focused on conservation easements. I am a transactional associate at a mid sized law firm. The prospect of freedom from the billable hour and contributing to meaningful work are the draws. The cons are that while the salary at the non-profit would only be slightly less than what I am making now, pay increases and opportunities for advancement will be much less than where I am now.
