Is Mary Kay even still a thing, I thought that died in the 90s.
No one likes MLMs and quite honestly no one wants to be friends with someone always trying to sell a product.
Multi level marketing and direct sales like Mary Kay, Herbalife, etc. are rarely profitable. Please get out while you are still ahead. They are designed to make you feel like you haven't "pushed hard enough" and that's why you aren't making money. The company already made its money when it sold you its inventory. No need for you to sell it to someone else now.
Its not you being defeated. Mary Kay faded long time ago…cosmetics and skin care has a-lot of competition. Its hard to sell Mary Kay now and making profit from it.
There are products in the market that are better at a lower price point.

I will be honest with you the only person I know who still uses Mary Kay is my MIL in her 70’s. It is pretty much an old lady brand so if you want to make sales you will need to target the older crowd.
Frankly there are way better options out there… she gifts me MK stuff constantly and I either throw it out, donate it or put it in the guest bathroom.
I want to get out but i don’t know how to do it
Keep on grinding! Don't feel defeated your an engineer! You're a winner! If you truly believe in the product and yourself you'll be fine
I still use MK - I’ve used it for years, there are just some products I use from MK that others can’t compare. But that’s me. I sold MK many years ago when it was still popular. I’ll be honest, I asked all of my friends to support me by having a show (do they still have them?) and then I asked friends of friends, etc. But, after awhile, that faded. Then, you need to branch out in other neighborhoods … it was hard. In the beginning, I drank the cool aide, but it got harder & harder.
It’s hard work. Those ladies that drive around in pink Cadillacs earn them, it’s a lot of work. If you believe in the product - them get out there & meet new people & sell, sell, sell … talk to your manager, she/he should have some ideas for you. If you need some suggestions- DM me & I’ll be happy to help! Good Luck !!!
It takes time!

If you pull up MLM public company filings, specifically earnings for reps, you will find like 98% make like $100-300 annually or less. So while possible to become a top earner, it is statistically improbable.
Keep building your client base, it will pick-up with every order you do! Word of mouth is a powerful tool!
Have you tried advertising on Instagram and Facebook? Make a Mary Kay specific account and just friend a bunch of people. Show before and afters, post sales and specials. Offer free or cheap delivery ( if they are out of your area) post flyers in your local grocery stores. I’m sure there are people who still love Mary Kay.
You can be a personal use MK rep. And it wouldn’t be a loss. I know a lot of people who are still using it and selling it. They have modernized their program to meet modern marketing tactics. I would really work on building your social media presence and platform. Also the best testimony is yours. If you use the products people will ask, what color is that lipstick or what eyeshadow are you wearing. Also, brainstorm ways to display the product, ie, hand set, put in a bathroom or kitchen where guests wash their hands. It will make them want to use it. Beauty is still a lucrative business. Don’t be discouraged! Just build your own niche. Be creative, make it fun!
Echoing what everyone here has said you either market really hard or get our while you can and use the product yourself
You joined an MLM, get out now.
