I’m with you. I often fall far behind on invoicing clients and submitting expense reports, it’s a huge adhd tax.
I realized that one reason this happens to me is I underestimate the time it will take me to do it. It seems like it should be a 15 minute job, but it can take an hour or two depending on the complexity.
So put expense reporting on your calendar as a task, and give yourself a checklist to reduce thought cycles
Another problem is the information is scattered. I get frustrated finding all the receipts. A good file system helps, get into a habit of downloading credit card statements, hotel, air and car receipts and
Also post all travel and hotel details to calendar, I can easily forget which airline and even which cities I visited recently. Having all travel info on calendar makes expense reporting easier
thank you! creating a check list to reduce thought cycles is great advice that I’m definitely going to try to incorporate.

I’ll try this. Thank you for your response

Try to find a routine or some kind of habit you can work alongside to do them. Whenever you do x, do the reports then too. There have been a lot of things I just hate doing and put off, but slowly when I started creating more of a routine of doing it, it isn’t AS bad. Still don’t love a lot of those things, but doesn’t get me as worked up anymore.
I literally won’t submit for mileage reimbursement because I hate tracking and reporting it. The only time I will is if it’s a special trip that’s 50+ miles.
Credit cards, I have an appointment on my calendar every Monday morning.
