Always stressing about it, mainly because I know ageism is real. If you’re still working into your late 50s as a creative then that’s a win most of us will never get. If I could go back in time I would have been a lot more judicious with how I spent my money and how much I saved/invested.
It’s tough out there for everyone. But you will never be more employable than when you’re at your cheapest for an agency to hire you.
Nope…basically living month to month with the way bills have increased. Trying my best to cut subscriptions and avoid spending where I can but it’s hard when everything from utilities to groceries fluctuates so much. I know that’s not unique to our industry and I am grateful to have an income but it’s just the sad reality of the US. Adding in, I am *not* in my 50s and still worried about it all.

The bigger issue than salaries is the lack of jobs. I really don’t know if it’s going to be possible to make a career out of being a copywriter. I graduated just over 5 years ago and it’s been a tremendous failure.
It feels like the world has given up on creative advertising and is in the process of giving up on people as a whole.
We are paid pretty well in comparison to a lot of other people. That largely depends on which piece of business you sit in and at what level.
If you add all the unpaid OT most aren’t paid so well. Unless you are director level or above , usually you are not making enough
I feel like you’re lucky to still be in the game on your late 50s I’m fully expecting to be aged out by then

No, I'm sweating it big time. Not making nearly enough for my COL in Los Angeles
Can you get out of that tax heavy place?
