Hi Fishes,
I recently got an offer for Cyber security advisory at PwC India . They gave a 20% hike on the current amount. Thing is that l, the technical interview told me that it is not a software/coding type of position and asked me multiple times if I was interested to do that. Is that a red flag?

I totally relate to that. You can have time off, but wait, there's a catch, you have to feel guilty and also put up with a bunch of weird passive aggressive comments. How dare we use what we're given!
And extra work
I know right? Employers are like the PTO is more of a suggestion we didn't expect you to use it or you can only use it when it is the most convenient for the company and the leadership team. Which is extra crappy because it is not like the managers and other higher-ups take a second thought about taking time off whenever they want it. Ugg, this is life in corporate America these days I suppose.
This is literally me today! My job is acting some type of way because I took tomorrow thru next Wednesday off to go home to Kansas City. They act like they can't function when I am gone and they certainly can.
Just tell them “this is your annual reminder of why you want me to continue working here.” 😂

I've learnt to be okay with them being in their feelings. Cos I will take every single day of PTO offered me and strategically too🤣

I used to stress about taking even a day off, til I realized the CEO was on a personal trip every other month for weeks at a time. Now I don't care what they think. I try and be mindful of my back up who has to cover me, because I don't want to stress her out. But I get 6 weeks of PTO a year and can only carry over 2. I will absolutely be using at least 4. I won't lose any of it if I can help it.
So let them be mad about it
Yup, especially if you have unlimited PTO. They will guilt trip you into taking even fewer days than you would with limited PTO. I earned my PTO and will use it.
I took one day off and came back to 200 emails..
I am fortunate that my company, or at least my team/division, has a very healthy view of PTO and everyone is encouraged and supported in the taking of time off.
