I think ADHD should be explored with a therapist regardless. Medicine isn’t always the answer, and sometimes cognitive therapy is all you need
I actually did visit a therapist a few times. Based on my symptoms around procrastination and a few others he suggested I get evaluated by a psychologist. However, I never brought up anger/frustration with him or the psy. So might need to visit this topic with him in future.
I dealt with a lot of the same issues that you went through (ADHD since I was like 8). My biggest challenge was understanding other people don’t function the same way we do and that I can’t expect them to be able to do that. It took years to become more patient but it started by becoming more understanding of the people you are dealing with. I essentially just assumed everyone was an idiot (unless I had hard proof they weren’t) and that helped me work with them better. Also I did go through therapy (for parents divorce) but I have no doubt that helped as well.

Second all of this ^
Not everyone can connect the dots between things as quickly as we can, which can get super frustrating.. took me a long time to recognize it was due to ADHD. Meds have helped for sure but I also try to count to 5 before responding to anything that frustrates me. 😅
Have had ADHD since I was a child. My temper can flare on days I forget to take adderall. My advice is to start on a low dose 10-20mg, therapists always seem to push the heavy dose 30-40mg, which will make you feel like a zombie.
I have diagnosed ADD, and I’m on 20mg of Vyvanse. I have a VERY quick temper and my patience is always more focused/in tact when I take my medication. Definitely discuss with a psychiatrist tho!
Oh I mediate and ensure I practice yoga each day. Those have been revolutionary for my weekend peace and focus.
Based on how you’ve worded this post & how you bring up the therapist on your own it seems like it could be external to the ADHD. No harm in talking to a therapist!
Try adderall and see how it works?
CBT should be explored regardless of drugs. Typically with any type of mental illness it is the combination of both that really builds up your toolkit for being able to handle it and thrive.
Try meditation
Thank you, I'm not consistent enough to realize the benefits but I try hard to make time.
