Is the CAIA content worthwhile? Anyone take it and have any insights to offer on. Is the content provided in the education applicable info to their employment?

From my limited exposure to it (have a CFA and worked at a >$20B AUM buy side shop), it's more niche but definitely has value to the right shop.

Yes, still worth it. This helps you learn a lot of things, especially because of the easily available resources to learn.

I’m taking it now - info is honestly fairly interesting. I have seen it help some friends esp in current market enviro ware a lot of firms are sizing up Alts. I know Nuveen and black rock both just brought on a staggering amt of people to alt desks

Also the time differential between CAIA and CFA is meaningful I think the avg person passes within 18m with CFA I think it’s more like 3y. On the other hand if you can get the CFA first you can skip part 1 of most designations making it easy to become alphabet soup if that’s a goal

For anyone who receives a quarterly bonus or raise in some form, does your employer start to schedule you for less hours when your raise kicks in, or pull you from a future schedule entirely once you receive a bonus; only to put you back on once the hours you would have worked and earned the amount given are passed? Ie; a part time employee getting $200.00 in a quarterly bonus and then not being scheduled a whole week during a bi-weekly pay period where they would have earned more on the clock…?

Due to obvious conditions my comp for the calendar year (salary+bonus) is back to 2017 levels although my overall sales are more than double and 1/3 less total comp than last year. It seems like comp opportunity is always decreasing during good times (I get it) but when it comes to adjusting during bad times, nothing was done. Is this normal for industry sales?
