I was laid off in November and have been job hunting. I get a decent amount of interviews where recruiters I speak with are super excited about my experience and portfolio. However when I do the actual interview I never get passed the 1st round. They usually have a list of questions and drill me. What am I competing with? Are ppl more “interview coached”? Is it just that more competitive out there? Is it because of my more senior role?

Solo trip to europe for two weeks this august, 27/F, deciding between two options: city and beachside or maybe both! Is this legal? My spouses company just decided to change their comp structure for account managers. It was base + comm, now it’s commission only but nothing changed, OT commission is the same, didn’t get more points, just took away the base pay and said work harder basically. So now they have to worker harder to get $50k they were already making. (Not a decision based on employee performance, they’ve been crushing it. I think the company is just trying to save money they overspent else where)

I worked with a Junior AD that skipped college and went straight to portfolio school. I was mad resentful of him at first, mostly because I wish I would have thought of that and saved $100K.
