Not necessarily. There are so many other factors like budget cuts, internal reshuffles, and timing. I lost my job in January and went through over 10 interviews across all kinds of agencies without landing a single offer. It wasn’t until today that I got an offer for a role I didn’t even apply for, thanks to a referral. So hang in there. Keep going. You’ve got this.
Thank you for the encouragement. Sometimes it takes a couple weeks to hear the rejection or even months if I made it to final rounds. But most times it’s almost right away
Honestly, a lot just comes down to vibes. You could be perfect on paper, but this is a human business, and nobody clicks with everybody.
FWIW, I just interviewed at an agency that made me do a Predictive Index test, and then literally (their own feedback) chose another candidate whose result was more aligned with what they wanted - nothing to do with my history or work.
I’ve experienced the same exact thing.
Same... recruiter is always excited about my experience but when I meet the hiring manager is usually neutral. Maybe they don't want to get hopes up? Idk so odd.
I'm also hating the drilling. A successful interview is two way, not just hammering of questions. But that seems to be the trend.
