I was laid off May 22nd…..I’ve applied to OVER 100 jobs, gotten 5 call backs, interviewed for two of them (didn’t hear back from the other three after I let them know by phone I’m available for an interview) got second interviews for the two jobs…..haven’t heard back! It’s been over two weeks…..safe to say I didn’t get any of the two jobs.
I literally checked off every single box of what they were looking for! Both interviews went sooooo well!!
I’m really starting to lose hope.

I know it seems dire but having 2 interviews when it’s been less than a month is actually really good in this economy! Try not to get discouraged. It’s also summer time and a lot of people take time off around graduation and end of the school year so it is possible that things are just going more slowly than usual with the hiring process. Good luck!

What should a coder/biller/transcriptionist make with over 15 years of experience? I am currently the only person in the office that can do those jobs with no backup. What model do you use for coaching?

I applied to B schools and while I got into a school I'm very happy with, another school that was my #1 rejected me outright when I felt I had a great shot. Furthermore, that school was close to both my and my wife's families. So despite the school im attending being better for my career, I can't help but feel that I've let my wife and both of our families down.

This is really starting to eat at me, to the point of having nightmares and waking up anxious. Any tips on how to get over this?...

I’m at $165k now, what should I ask for with my promotion?

How would you handle not getting a lunch break when you are a salaried employee treating patients for 40 hours a week? I don’t get documentation time either, but all notes are to be completed the same day. Some of us have reached out to HR and we’re told to discuss it with the regional director, but the regional director says we’d have to come in early or leave late to block out a lunch break. My commute is an hour each way, so I’d prefer not to make my day any longer. Advice?

So I had been working as medical interpreter up to the early part of this year. Today, during an interview, the Director with whom I was interviewing genuinely urged me to consider pursuing a career as a PA or even attempt to go to medical school. I had considered it in passing before but today was about the third or fourth time that someone had earnestly nudged me in that direction. Has anyone here made such a career pivot before? I love working in healthcare, there’s nothing like it.
