Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

Does anyone here work for Silicon Valley Bank? They recently acquired Boston Private. I’m a candidate for a job at Boston Private. Wondering if SVB is planning layoffs in the near term at BP? Also, does anyone know the anticipated benefits to be rolled out from SVB as the parent company? Specifically interested in health insurance providers. Thanks in advance for any information! Biggest thing — you can never get comfortable— in your mind you should always be open the possibility that it could happen. And have a plan B. I think it just helps to always have the in the back of your mind — it helps you grieve. Just speaking from my personal experience. I’ve seen it too many a times — it’s the reality we live in.
I can relate all too well to that rollercoaster of emotions. It's tough when assurances don't align with reality. Hang in there, friend.
You are in the denial, anger phase. It will take about a week or more to accept it.
I was told the same thing and here I’m in week 6.
Take the day off, go for a walk and next day Start by updating your resume immediately and inform your top professionnel connections that you are officially looking for a new role- not a job.
Update your linked in and start exploring. Overall, you know what to do but most importantly keep a positive mind set no matter what. I keep telling myself that it’s a blessing in disguise and something better is waiting on the other side. Don’t give up and good luck!
Needed this I just got fired yesterday
First, I feel your disappointment because I have been there too. Just remember that this could be an opportunity to learn, reflect and find something even better. Also, it is a great idea to learn how to change your mindset as things like this could happen anytime with any organization; therefore, it’s bette to be prepared. Good luck!
I was laid off April of last year. Having had 4 major life events in a span of 6 months after that, this includes the lay off and then I broke my collarbone in November. Got the all clear to return to work in January of this year. I know it hasn't been that long but wow! The market is sooo competitive for us Admins. I've tried networking and reaching out to recruiters only to be ghosted. Feeling really discouraged but yet I still apply. Hoping and praying something happens soon. Good luck to all. I feel for every one of you!
Anytime you are an "employee" never ever feel like your valuable, that without you the company will fail. No matter what anyone says, your an employee in the end and your always replaceable.
what i would do is put all my energy into not being an employee and figure out something that makes me money just like your employer did. in the end if the company doesnt make any money, you dont make any money, and you cant get fired from your own companh unless its a corporation, thats another story.
Lesson here, your boss, managers, coworkers and HR are NOT your friend. They can turn on you in a blink of an eye. Trusting them is a big NO. Trust only yourself. Work n go home
True. You cannot trust anyone you work with. They can turn on you in a flash.
I was told my contract was going permanent, they were just speaking about the finer details, as I had banked a big bit of leave to visit my family half a world away. It ended up dragging out over 3 months, and I felt like something was off. People then started being made redundant and then I was finally told my role was no longer needed, but because they never updated my contract to a perm role, I walk away with nothing. It's pretty heartbreaking, and I was close to my boss too, I had opened up to them about a fair bit, and now I see the error of my ways.
So I know the feeling, you feel like you were gaslit and start questioning who you can trust. I don't have the answer but I think there are some great replies here, keep your head up and work towards doing things for yourself. It's a tough realisation but the only person you can truly trust is yourself, so self development and doing what's best for you is always the most important thing to focus on.
I feel for you, brother.. all I can suggest is to keep your head up, no matter what your family says, you know in your heart why you were let go. Not saying it’s your fault at all, I just believe you’ll eventually put the pieces of the puzzle together to understand why and hopefully that will give you closure.
Also, I know it’s hard, but considering I’m going through it now as well (been collecting UC for 3 months now), try and think of a silver lining, learn from this and come back stronger. I’ll bet you money is that time next year you’ll be even more successful. Good luck brother! 🙏
Never give up never quit never surrender we see it more and more every single day managers promising this or that but if you do one thing to upset the boat even if you're right and they fear losing a contract today's thought philosophy is money over people.
Money is the only thing corporations are interested in. That and covering up their tracks. Been there. Not going back.
It’s not easy I can definitely tell you that I am someone that has been in the banking industry for 33 years have worked at many banks in my lifetime. One of the banks I work for for about 15 years only left that bank because I relocated to another state took another job Wasn’t even less than two years in the company laid off 300 employees it’s not easy and it’s hard now trying to find a job within the salary bracket that I want to be in it. I don’t know if your spiritual person or not but just pray on it and pray that you find another job soon.
Own your worth and skills no matter what. No fake manager can take that from you. U deserve better. I hope the best for you.
Redundancy is an opportunity to move on to something else. One door closes another door opens. And in this day and age is part of working.
I haven’t … still job hunting 5 months later
Get another job, you got the skills.
I was at my place of work for 3 years and I was the first employee hired on. My company was brand new I helped open the store.. I knew for sure that I wasn't going to get fired cause I was the only one that knew everything I knew. Nobody else in store could even do returns it was that bad!!
But low and behold here I am.. I didn't get anything but a goodbye 👋🏾 and I knew secrets and all and None of that was enough to keep me around..
Don't get close to anyone it just hurts more when you get cut.. My advice is, keep your head up and don't look back ❤️ Looking back only reminds you of the moment it happened!
No ine is safe
Owner, Founder, CEO? When you say you believed him were you having constant conversations about being afraid of them letting you go? Try to avoid those conversations and turn those fears off in your mind. It’s not good for optics and makes you look desperate. This can actually get you put on the list.
Also never trust anyone at work when they say your job is safe or secure. It is not. We are all expendable. Get used to the new world. You’re a container, not a human anymore. I had it happen to me in 2020. Crushed my ego, but I bounced back and so will you. Take control of your own destiny.
It is hard not to take being laid off personally. I realized when I went to a meeting mandated by unemployment that I was not the only employee that my company laid off. Try to take time to do things that will restore your emotional health: visit positive friends/family, take walks through interesting scenery, watch your favorite shows. Give yourself 1-3 days to recover. Then lift your head up high, be proud of your accomplishments and work on reconnecting with other work contacts and commit to "applying" to at least 3 new opportunities a day. Good luck!
I've been laid off 9 weeks now, and it's still an emotional roller coaster. Last week, I wanted to just give up and cry. But I know that I have to pick myself up and move on. I've applied for every job I'm qualified for within a 30 mile radius, and have only had one interview.
Just file for your unemployment, and start a to do list. Take it one day at a time.
It takes time but makes you a stronger person and it's so hard to trust another manager. To be truthful they all lie. You seen my post l was let go after 3 days
Unfortunately you have to treat each job the same, that being "One day, sooner or Later it will end, and sometimes with little or no notice" you have to be able to read the situation more than what is being said and act accordingly, I have had numerous employers say one thing and do exactly what they said they wouldn't most of the time.
You can never be sure of the circumstances that led to being laid off. It happens to the best of us. And it sucks every time. First, take a deep breath and process the shock a bit. Some people can do that quickly. Others take longer. Next, take a minute to think about what you'd like to be doing next. This could be a great time to reflect on where you've been, the roles you've had, the companies you've worked for. Were you doing the kind of work you liked, with good people, and for a good company? If so, leverage that experience as you start to package up your new story for the next group. If not, now's the time to consider changes. Look forward and channel your energy into what's ahead for you. Sure, it's a blow, but I'm always amazed at how many doors close only to help people find new and better options.
