I was moved to Digital department from Finance as my finance manager had issues with language and left me out of department communications.

Now after 1.5 years my firm is putting pressure on me that i am not so suitable for digital as my knowledge is from finance.

I am stuck and not sure what to do. i like work here i have been contributing to work. my renewal is due and worry they may ask me to leave.

Gosh, I'm really sorry you've been put in this situation. I know how frustrating it is to feel that uncertainty with upcoming reviews and renewals. I would be concerned as well after being bumped around, but I would keep showing up and trying your best while also preparing for the worst. Update your resume/LinkedIn, have a game plan should the renewal not go in your favor, and stay professional no matter what the outcome is. Wishing you luck, OP!

Is there somebody you can have a 1:1 with? It would be nice to either put together an action plan so you can meet expectations or move somewhere else where your knowledge and experience are better utilized.

Yikes, that sounds like a tough situation to be in. I think I would start looking for something else. That doesn't sound like a company I would want to continue to work for.

Having worked with energy now for a decade, I find myself enjoying the craziness of it all: You're always two decisions (in Moscow or Riyadh) away from prices halving or doubling. War or no war is quite often a sensitivity, and adoption of EVs/renewables/biofuels will be between X and 10X. Find it hard to imagine doing strategy work in the less volatile/crazy domains - what could be more exciting than this 😋

Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations

Should I Go Back and Reneg? Recently I was offered a role as a Project Implementation Manager (In Retirement Services) .The salary range for Colorado residents was 65-89K. I’m located in NY so the recruiter said he would try to get me more. Ultimately he came back at 90K which is a bit inline with that I was seeing on Glassdoor but approx looks like I may leave 10-12K on the table. I accepted already but may get an offer from another HR company in account management around 90-100K. Need advice

Looking to get into implementation at paycore. Anyone have any salary or info on it? Would anyone recommend them as a good company to get started in implementation?

I’ve been verbally offered a position at a new company, but the recruiter insists on getting a verbal acceptance before sending the offer in writing. This person insists on negotiating salary before sending the paperwork. Generic benefits, RSUs, bonus info have been provided; it’s all unofficial.

This is absurd. Am I missing some “new way” of doing things? Your take?

Hi all. I just received an offer for $130k and will be eligible for about 29,000 shares of stock options. The vesting schedule is 1 year and then quarterly thereafter.

Can someone explain what this means? I “will be eligible”. So, I have to buy the shares? Should I be asking at what price?

Newbie here. Please help!

Anybody know salary range for VP Operations for GS in SLC?

My husband just received a job offer on an opportunity he is really excited about. It would be great for his career and they are giving the 15% jump in base he asked for, however they won’t share what the target bonus amount would be. It’s an executive director position, so I would assume it’s a decent target bonus, but without that in writing it could honestly be a gift basket at the end of the year. Is it a red flag for them to not share this? His total comp could be less at this new job…

I’m interviewing for a marketing manager role at a company based in SF. I’m genuinely excited about the role and the company but we’ve yet to discuss salary. I expect to be asked at some point, but my research has given me a VERY broad range. So I’m here to do a bit more research. I’ve got 5 very relevant years of experience and will have an associate manager directly reporting to me. Are there any marketers out there who can share their salaries in similar regions and experience levels?

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? If so, were you able to negotiate a percentage of the consulting fee? Or was it a bump in salary during the project?

Started a new job a year ago, high performer. My manager suggested a promotion to Product Manager since that‘s the work I’m doing, but that would be a 50% raise. Higher ups decided instead to make a “new role” (not PM), that has no analog in the company and is hard to price via Glassdoor, etc. I feel like this is to limit my promotion salary to something like 10% from where it currently is. Is there anything I can do? FWIW: I have a PhD from top 5 program and am working in that field. Thanks!
