I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

I think it is reasonable to ask that you get a significant salary bump when you get promoted to Manager.
However, just because you are a Manager doesn't automatically mean you should be paid the most. If you have someone with a lot of expertise and/or history of success they should be rewarded. Pay isn't always about "rank," it can be - and should be - about who brings the most to the job.
Depending on your firm's structure, I have seen many cases in some specific group of firms' where the individual contributor made more than the manager. In a few cases, more than twice the manager. If the IC skillset is unique enough, they will command higher comp. Ask for what the market is willing to pay you for. Leave if you feel that you are underpaid.

I think you should ask. I made significantly lower when I was a team lead. It lasted 3 months. The team members were there longer than I’ve been. But, they made about $25k more than I did.
Ask for a large bump, you should be making more. If you don’t get a large bump still take the promotion, then start applying elsewhere asap.
D1 would be correct if you were the same title like both non senior. But if you’re a manager making less than a non-senior consultant that would be a sign to leave. More responsibility should come with more pay otherwise you’re actively losing value/ money
If you’re going to lead a teen, you need to be paid for it because it is a lot, and a lot to be responsible for 16 to 20 other people‘s work beside your own. You work for the company, go into whatever system they have your job titles in and do a search on the salary bands for that job title and the level. Then you will know what you should be making at least at the lower end because of your inexperience at this point. Remember, this is your career and your pay. If you don’t advocate for yourself, no one else will.
Look up what the managers at your company make or managers in your industry. Ask for a number that is more than you make now and in the range of your salary research. Aim for as much as the middle of the range to leave room for future raises without a promotion. (management advance slows down compared to an IC and you have to take on significantly more people to climb the ladder as a manager)
As a manager you may also become eligible for bonus that weren't available to ICs for hitting company goals.
To ask the question straight up 😂( It didn't win well for me, but hope it ends well for u). The gap in my case was more than double the salary so it was too " problematic" to speak up. No regrets though if it's ain't right the time right.
