Slalom Consulting did the same to me. Came back and said you passed with flying colors but we can’t hire you bc of leadership. Meanwhile, they were not on a hiring freeze..
That's horrible! I wanna be positive and say congrats on not ending up at a company that treats people like that. What a massive waste of time though. Pretty sure you can add your interview experiences with a company on Glassdoor. Might be worth it to warn others? Sorry you went through that!
This has happened to me a few times. At this point, I just move on.
As the face of that frustrating conversation, sometimes leadership didn't think things through before rushing to have the position posted. I was actually just in the position of having to go to bat regarding a job my org rushed me to post, and then, when I highlighted several though gaps, they wanted to reconsider the posting though I'd already sourced and had initial conversations with candidates. Then I had to walk them through like children what their lack of forethought felt like from a candidate perspective and how it impacts the brand and candidate pipeline...so...all of this to say that sometime HR is in the position of taking actions to appease the org while also getting leadership to check back in to reality, and it can truly suck on the candidates end.....and as a member of that type of org, heavy echo on the "move on" piece. If the interview process is chaotic, the job will be too.
Typical. I’m so sorry. Are they bringing in freelancer for holidays? I would ask recruiter that.
Ok great! Just stay in touch. Along, with interviewing.
This happens far more than it should and honestly those companies should be embarrassed. Get yourself together before you come asking me to come in for an interview. Its ridiculous to waste people's time like this in 2024.
Agree with the above that this doesn't bode well for the experience once you're an employee. Many companies also do this once they realize they don't have the $$ to support it for whatever reason. Count your lucky stars and keep looking, sounds like you dodged a mess. And if you do decide to consider them again next year, I'd be clear that you're not doing 4 rounds again because again this doesn't sound like a great org yo pretzel yourself over
