Ideas for client gifts this year? Typically has been a nice bottle of wine, but only to the clients I had previously shared drinks with so I knew they were wine drinkers.

Life is like a box of chocolates... I send a holiday tower of chocolates to my clients. Goes over well and can be shared.

Depends on client but I’ve sent some steak and lobster. They come in handy around here as not many are eating in restaurants.

Thoughts on gift cards by email? Tacky or useful? It’s always a logistical nightmare shipping things like wine and food, and no one is in the office. Plus some clients are out of the country.

I distinctly remember as an Analyst on my first project telling my PPMD and SM that I hated PPT and excel, and thought it was the stupidest thing ever that we had to align everything and storyboard. Thankfully they laughed and didn’t roll me off. Now I’m in industry corporate strategy and teaching my new analysts how to create slides and she said the same thing😬. Funny how things change, and now I realize that those consulting skills are more important as you move up in corporate America

Question: The company that you are working for offers cloud managed services and has been approached by a potential client. What are some areas (or red flags) you would consider before responding to their RFP? ( I started putting together a response but would love to get your insights) Answer: 1) Understanding of current annual spending vs spending if they adopted our cloud services 2) Clients expected growth rate 3) Regulatory requirements depending on industry (medical, fed etc)
