How do you deal with counter offers? I have an offer to join a larger tech company in a more senior role, with bonus and RSUs that my current start up can’t match. But my current company want me to stay. They offered an increased base salary which is still below the new offer and I went back and said no, so they might increase. This only came about by me exploring a headhunt approach after being underpaid by my current company for the time I’ve been here . Would you hear them out or just leave?

When I was headhunted for the job, ESG was a relatively new concept and too few companies hire for related positions. I didn't find any salary range from Glassdoor or anywhere so I had no idea. My fault was I did not ask the HR and just gave my asking salary.
