Hey so currently I work for Thomson Reuters as an attorney editor, it would be a pretty good position for somebody to make money but also have time to live and study for a new bar exam. The position is completely remote you help enhance editorial content which means that you add things like foot notes and such, private message me and I'd be happy to give you more information and refer you if you're interested
Is it remote in US only or can it be anywhere in the world?
Do you mean non-barred positions within a law firm or anywhere else? You can always register as in-house counsel and work at a company in majority of the states even though your bar license is from a UBE state. Some states like Texas and Georgia don’t even require registration, to the best of my knowledge. If you are, however, referring to work in a law firm with no bar license, all I can think of is a job as a law clerk or paralegal, unless you want to switch up your career and do something like recruiting.
Wanted to add that a recognized certification in a niche area may also help balance out your experience, if you can afford it.
Look up that states requirements on legal services. In california you can practice under another state bar certification for 3 years if you’re doing legal services work
I’m in this exact same position and really looking for non-paralegal/clerking opportunities, as well. So far the only concrete option I’ve been looking more into is working remotely under my non-UBE state license which will probably be a pay cut but will at least pay the bills until I can take the new state bar and go from there.
