Is anyone traveling to their clients right now? Just heard there is a client that is requiring consultants to travel although the client doesn’t require their employees to be vaccinated…
I have an Economics undergrad + 3.5 year experience in healhcare/lifesciences consulting. If I pursue an MPH or MHA, what would be my non-consulting healthcare career options?
Any reviews of working at DLA Piper? Looking for London specifically but also interested to know of any other experiences/reviews. Salaries, billable targets et al
Deloitte refugee. EY or KPMG next? PWC also has a huge overwork culture, so I’m not interested in them (or Guidehouse for that matter).
How many people have had success leaving “big” consulting to start doing freelance work? The freedom and money sound very appealing, especially since I’m getting pretty sick of the corporate rat race. Luckily I’m in a niche area and get hit up on LinkedIn a lot about independent contracts. What kinds of things should I be considering as I contemplate this potential career change? Any advice from someone who has made the jump is appreciated.
Is LinkedIn helpful? I only see it as a means to showcase one's experience/education background. Am I missing out on its benefits? Not a lot of big agencies post jobs there (atleast in my city) and the recruiters that do reach out have vague, often marketing-related, job offers.
What sort of roles in pharma manufacturing can a consultant with 3 YOE post MBA (also have an MS in pharmaceutical science, but no PhD) realistically seek to target in big Pharma? No engineering experience. All professional manufacturing experience has been in life sciences supply chain consulting (pharma mostly).
I was told by a PPED in NY today that the reasons I'm not up for partner is needing to lose weight, not being female or a diversity candidate, and not having the right family image (married with kids)
Do jobs outside of public accounting have a support system where bosses help? I’m sick of getting review notes from partners and them assuming I know wtf they’re talking about and how to fix it. Yeah I’m a manager but I don’t know everything.
If you exceed your billable hours Monday through Thursday and don’t have much work to do on Friday, is it okay to leave early?
Anyone have experience working with Umbrex? Found a UI/UX contract opportunity but wanting to know more about the firm as a whole (culture, typical client culture, etc.).
2 years in. Came from digital agency. I miss true collaboration, looking at the broader digital picture rather than implementing software just bc because someone signed a fat SOW, my mental health..
Any recommendation of book to crack a case study? MBA course case study and real life firms case study?
I was offered the Director of Engineering role at a startup my old boss is starting up. That is all! I’m super excited and don’t want to tell too many people yet so sharing here!
The recruitment that is being done for project specific roles, what happens once the project is done? How's the bench system in mindtree? Do they throw people out in that case??
It is very difficult to do my job and think creatively when I’m living each day in constant fear of being laid off. I’m grateful to have a job, but damn, sometimes I feel like I’m coming apart at the seams. Happy Saturday, everyone.
Back in the day, I did my own PR, sales & marketing for whatever business idea I was running with at the time. What’s a good remote sales opportunity I can do anywhere in the world that won’t be painful or too high touch? Where I can use my social & business skills (markets, law, cloud, publishing, media, logistics, algos, social media, books, ebooks, design, podcasting, marketing, press release writing, voiceover, journalism) to earn a few extra shillings?
