Basically what the title says. If I’ve been with a company for x years, and as a result, have x years of goodwill banked and am eligible for x years of severance, is it better to just stay put? Or do I gamble with a larger company that just maybe is better capitalized? The US economy is likely gonna be shambolic for the next year, and biotech is basically in nuclear winter. This is my first recession in the workforce, idk how job hopping pans out. I’d appreciate any experience you guys have.
I’m in a similar dilemma. My thought process is if they already haven’t withdrawn the offer and are still interested, then they clearly need you. The layoff risk should be low.
